Nickname

"Acorn" Division.

Background

National Army Division established by the War Department on 5 August 1917 to be established at Camp Pike, AR.  Draftees were from Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.  Movement overseas commenced on 14 June 1918 and was completed by 16 September 1918.
